    Fargo's were a sister to Dodge, like Mercury is to Ford and GMC is to Chev.

  11. Thanks, never knew that. Very interesting, just looked it up.

  12. Bandera Texas?? I thought the Holy Grail was in the Middle East!:eek:

  13. Not quite. Fargo's were the export Dodge truck.

    Thanks, Chris :D!

  17. partially right, Fargo was Dodge's import name, mostly for the Far East, Canada and Europe.

    Though in Canada the Fargo is more of a sister as it was built here and not imported and we also had the Dodge along side it.

    Yes it's a '32 Ford 3 window. Go back one page and there's a pic of it.

    Have you let cash do the talking? I'm sure he's hounded about selling that 3 window constantly if it's in plain sight in the middle of town.

  23. Yes, I meant to say that the Fargo was similar to the Dodge, but built elsewhere than in the USA.

    Very true.
    That comment reminded me of a good one here in town.
    I've always liked 1955-57 Chevy wagons. Since before they were "cool".

    About 15 years ago I saw a '56 Chevy 210 wagon an older guy had here in town.
    I could just barely see it from the street and asked about it.
    Typical nosy car nut I guess.

    He was nice enough to show me the car & said it was always for sale - he would want $3500. for it though (& back then you pretty much couldn't give them away and my NICE original driver '55 210 4-door wagon had cost me $1500., and was a nice unrestored car!).

    It had been sitting there along time. Silly, but he was a fun guy to talk to, though.
    =====
    In 2010, I was nearby again. I figured he came to his senses and sold them along time ago (he had lots of cars), but I found the house again and inquired.
    The first time, there was also a red *1960 Nomad that was amazing...just parked years earlier.
    Since his $ were off the wall, I was hoping it was still there, too.

    Someone had paid his price for the '60 Nomad, but everything else was still there. Weird.

    The '56?...Still would sell it, still a really nice guy.
    But, "You know those go up in value" he said.
    He figured it to be worth $10,000 now. Grrrr.

    I asked about a rough 1957 Chevy truck he had, and he fumbled for the "Old Car Price Guide" and flipped to the right page, (oh brother).

    He qouted a price about 2 up from lowest. (Those $ are not based on cars sitting for 30 years)..."$5500.", he said.
    "Gonna sell some of these now that I'm retired".

    =====
    Sometimes those cars are sitting there for good reason - the owners just don't get it, or the think if they let stuff degrade for 30 years, they can retire like Trump because they will all be worth so much $$$$$.

    But yes - sometimes they are STILL there.
