Any other info on this car. It looks like it could be a cammer. Has semi- hemi wrote on it.

  9. Grove Boy's car is currently being restored by a gentleman in Illinois, so we'll see what it had for a motor back in the day!

My barn find 40 Willys truck. Barn find doesn't always mean nice. These shots were from around 1996 when I bought it. I visited it regularly for 12 years before that when I was still trying to obtain it.

Are you sure thats the same car? The "now" body has a complete uncut firewall and the package shelf and braces. You can see the original race car has everything cut. Even the "now" frame is uncut.

There was a guy who posted it on the Illinois Drag Racer's Page on Facebook saying thats what it was. Could it be a different frame?

  20. gassercrazy,
Don't know that, but it is up on the Illinois - Wisconsin Border. The gentleman has several restored race cars.

Well, good news for us steel coupe owners. The black coupe at Russo and Steele brought 148,500.00. I would say thats good money when you can see the coupe had repop chrome and trim. But at Barrett Jacksons bazario world a glass pro street coupe brought @ 144,000. I never could understand why people pay what they do for glass copies, dont get me wrong glass cars are fine just dont belong in the same dollar bracket as a real steel car! Its not that way with 32 Fords or AC Cobras or any other car except Willys.

  23. Just picked this up today at a local swap meet, its from the 1967 Nationals. Pretty cool art work using what appears to be metalflake.

Tom, your quite the collector! I will never forget my late night tour at your house when I picked up the Mongoose body, I think I left around 4:30 am and I had been up for 26 hours. I could have stayed for days, maybe another time we can get together again.

    cool sweatshirt!

  27. While I was in the process of purchasing a vintage Woodburn Dragstrip wool jacket (funny car racer Kenny Goodell) for $200, the seller brings out this cotton jacket which was in a box and adds it into the mix. This was one of those swap meets that
come along only so often where you sell and buy at the same rate and the smile never ceases, it was a great day for the first hit of the year.
