It is an ancient symbol. Used in this country by the Navajos meaning good luck.
Nazis used it in it's reversed mirror imaged form.

The Edmonton Swastikas was a women&#8217;s hockey team in the Canadian city of Edmonton, in Alberta, which was formed in 1916. Their equipment a swastika encircled a shield, which lived up to its name. At that time, more than 15 years before Hitler carry the Nazi party to power in Germany with the same symbol, the swastika was a common symbol in many <nobr>cultures</nobr> without any global significance.
