    Since most 327 cranks are small journal, use a 307 crank. It's a large journal, same stroke.

    Even a large journal 327 isn't big enough for a 400 block. 2.450" mains VS. 2.650".

    there is both bearings and shims to fit the
    crank in the 400 block

    If you're going to build a 400 with stock parts, except for pistons, this is a winner.

    Also, you can use 327 pistons with the 5.94" GM rods in a 350, for a cheap 6" bottom end. 3.48-3.25 = .23, 5.7 rod + .23 = 5.93. pistons pop up .01", should be room for cheap pistons to come up some.
