    Mazooma posted this over two years ago - HMS Vanguard, but I thought it deserved another look. The scale of this vessel is just huge when you at the width of the houses on the suburban streets, it was just fackin crazy. This pic is just a tiny sample of the massive number of pix on this thread and the almost 15 million page views its got - thanks again for sharing its awesome stuff.

    Gotta love early Funny Cars. And dig those door locks.
    I've been wrecking my brain trying to think up something like this we can make out of a modern day recycle (junk) pile. Sentra or a Corolla maybe? Tarus ? I just can't get motivated by modern day cars. Tom S.

    1948 Davis Divan, designed by Frank Kurtis and built in Van Nuys CA until the company's owner (Glenn Gordon "Gary" Davis) was sued for fraud and went to jail.

    This was taken years before funny cars, Tom. "Funny" started as a nickname for the early altered wheelbase (factory experimental) late-models in about 1964 because they looked, well, funny. Within two years, the term came to mean the all-out, tube chassis fuel fliptops.
