    Hello,
I have a 62 Short box Chevy pickup that I am getting a set of steelies and whites for. Im looking for opinions on what color to paint the wheels, the truck is Orange (bought that way) and not sure which route to go. I was thinking maybe a tan or off white with chrome lugs/caps. The interior will be two tone brown when I get to that point. Any ideas?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

    Hotrod on!

  2. Red gotta paint 'em red, and it must be rustoleum with a brush. :D:D

An off white or body color or even black would all be factory colors if that is the route you want to take. The chome lugs would show better against black but I may rake the off white look as well if it were me. I am not feelin' the tan wheels and whitewalls myself.

Oh and maybe fill out your bio or ppst and introduction in the new to the HAMB section or both. Some of us like to have some idea who we are talking to.

  6. I had an O silverado when I was living in mexico for a while. I couldn't decide what color to paint the wheels when we were putting it together so my buddy took left over pant from the leftover paint tne gun cleaning drum and painted them that color. he called it mucklebedung, I loved it but I'll be it would be hard to match.

Thanks Guys! Some good ideas, it has got my mind going now. Im brand new here but a long time fan of the board and your rides! I have only had the truck for a few months and have spent every free minute i have making it mine, mostly engine work and a little height adjustment to start.

  9. That is called attitude adjustment on a C-10. Give it attitude and no one will worry about what color the wheels are. ;)

Just sold this non HAMB friendly c-10
Repainted the original green, which I hate green, grabbed a little yellow and a little orange and came up with this.
Guy who bought it loved it.

Not diggin the black yet, a halloween theme might not work. All though I really like flat black when it comes to old skool rides. Maybe a different shade of orange or off/antique white?

    Thanks LeadFooted,
I may shoot them with the rattle can and see how they look, I plan on using bullet lugs and caps with whites so maybe that will break up the black a bit. Ill post once they come in and installed.

Not a fan of black wheels? Try a darker shade of tan, I think it's normally refered to as "brown". Maybe a rootbeer brown. That would compliment the orange and not look Halloween and the dark color would also show off the chrome nuts.

Dump all of the colors you're considering into the gun, swirl it a few times, and cross your fingers before spraying.

But seriously... a picture of the truck might help... orange is a tough one.

as weird as it may sound, I have seen several orange cars and trucks with dark Maroon wheels. School bus yellow might work also.

On an orange truck I'd use a light coffee color. With dog dish caps and ribbed beauty rings it would look great.
