That picture is the corner of Washington and Center City Parkway in Escondido, CA. It was taken a few years before I moved here, which was in 1970.

Sophia has some nice ankles. There are other body parts on her that I find particularly attractive also.

HEY! I didn't know there were floods and such before there were SUVs screwing up the weather.

My cousin had this type "pass through" seat belts in an old ford expolice cruiser. You pulled the back side of the buckle uo then passed the tongue of the belt through the buckle then pushed down on it to lock the belt. In a sudden stop or an accident these belts would lock so tight you could not open them from the strain against the buckle. They are the ones that people would get trapped in cars after an accident and why people fought seat belt use early on.

This one wasn't caused by SUV's. It was caused by a bunch of rich guys with a hunting lodge that didn't maintain their earthen damed lake. Somehow they were never held responsible.

Rusty Truck, thanks for sharing! This CLASSIC pic of your Dad is what Dog's vintage thread is really about. There's something going on in every corner of the photo!:) Laundry drying outside, the stock bike WITH fenders and basket, the awning & clapboard houses, the toothy '53 family DeSoto back there and, of course, the '40;) with the '49 Plymouth bumper (as Don noted) and home paint job (note overspray on running board). Does the script say "Le Satan"? Classy, in an "American Grafitti" kind of way.

Rusty, can you tell more of the story about your Dad and the car? Approx. year the photo was taken?:confused: Did he do any street or backroads competition? What became of the '40? Again, photo super-cool and REAL.:D
