I have been curious about this car since I found the first photo a few years back, now two more were posted today. Looking for info or more photos of this car. Chip mentioned off-board that he thought it was from the Detroit area, and was originally built in the mid-sixties? Anyone know more about this car? Is the owner on the HAMB? This is one TASTY period T-Bucket!

It looks a lot like another car Chip and I both hold in high regard, the SBC powered Chuck Penry car from the mid-sixties. I'd especially like to know the wheelbase, I'm guessing around 94"-96", shorter than most of the well-known cars like Ivo's, DeBenitictus, ect. Sure looks right, doesnt it?

^^yes, that was where I snagged the second and third photo. I was figuring he might have found his way over here. I may have a lead on the owner anyway, I got another pm indicating that he is a HAMBer. Have to follow that up tomorrow. Thanks for all the input guys.
Man, I LOVE a good sixties style T-bucket.

Nice car, cant go wrong with webers and torq thrusts. Plan on using both those on my 32 build.

  11. It was in a magazine about 5 years ago. Street Rodder I think, but not sure. Great car.

I think there was like a 5 minute period between Kookie style T's and brass laden Fad T's....This orange job is one of 'em!

its my favorite T-bucket era, and there were a bunch of pretty high profile cars built. The blue pontiac powered job that was in the famous R&C feature with the Walker & Geary Bantam, the Penry car, the Knutson car I started another thread on, Rickles injected nail-head job, Dick Thompsons with the rochester injected Pontiac, there were a lot of real nice ones. I have a slowly growing pile of parts, corvair steering box, the 289 out of my falcon, a bunch of SBF parts left over from my youth, a smooth back 9", some SW green stripes, ect, but a mid sixties t-bucket is like 4th or 5th in line on my list of projects, so my daughter will probably just end up selling that pile at my estate auction. But I can still daydream about it.:)

  16. If I remember right, the guy that owns it now is the son of the original builder, his Dad sold it, and the son tracked it down years later, and bought it back. The son restored it back to the way his father built it. One of my favorite "T's"

Is this the Penry car? I love this era/style because they scream 'I'm tough, jump in and drive fast', and not collapse when you zip around corners or hit a bump.

Yessir! Good one, isnt it? I kinda figure whoever built the orange one probably took a look at the Penry car at some point. WB is pretty close, bed length looks the same, very similar looking 4-bar, ect.

  21. It's owned by a guy named Wayne Feister. He worked a DST and it was his Dad's car. From what I heard it sits in his family room. He also owns the bitching F100 you see in the pics.

I work with the owner Dwayne Fietzer. and will try and give some info to those interested.I'll post some more pics later when I can,but here's a link from when street rodder did a nice feature on the car. There's a good bit of info in the article. And I asked him about it being the Chuck Penry car.No it is not.

  23. There was a red one in a color feature in HRM from the same period that is just as awesome.

I knew it wasn't ACTUALLY Penrys car, I was noting the similarity. For instance, per the Street Rodder article, the wheelbase is identical to Penrys, at 93". The bed length looks to be the same, the 4-bar is very similar, and the stance is quite close too.
