thanks for your interest. its a 7/8 scale fiberglass body on a tubular chassis. i made the molds and body. the plug pieces were original merc, but i didnt injure the originals. i always liked the merc look and thought it would be an attention magnet. the racing class i built it for had a runaway financial situation which i elected not to enter.

this is very early fall of 1988 in the construction .these are all plug pieces draped on a 86 firebird chassis to form the general shape.

So, calling on a technicality, the 60 Comet wasn't badged/sold as a merc until 62. If the club is not discriminating on that fact then I would be glad to join.

Image167.jpg Here's my 1957 Turnpike Cruiser.....I've never seen a car that gets as much attention as this. It won 28 trophies last summer alone!

    I bought me a Mercury...

Add me to the Merc Club if you'd be so kind.

I'm adding a link to another thread I created, trying to find more info about a particular Mercury custom from 1992. I think it will get more exposure here:

Info about this custom from 1992?
Carson Topped 1951 Mercury from Reno Hot August Nights 1992

Hi Bad Bob When I was 16 I had a 41 Merc Convert. in a small town. There were no converts for miles around, It is said that the pill liberated the girls in the 60's (In Canada)but I can tell you they loved converts & didnt need to be liberated Enough said .Now in my 70's I have fond memorys of those days I now have 2 41 converts & am presently building 41 Merc PU ?? 1 car is as Henry built it ,1 has a complete 84 Corvette drive train in the Merc frame & the PU is straight . A few years ago I aquired the hood , all that was left of my 41 in the 50,s that I still have. In the last 15 or so years I have made friends with many 41 Merc convert owners all over the world ,
Singapore, New Zeland, US, Canada South America & more I have the searial # of most of them & have tried to set up s TRADE system in Canada so people can trade parts rather than pay the inflated price that some guys now charge for parts > I now have some health problems so the trade system seems to have gone by the wayside but I would like to join with you people in the Merc Club I could perswade my Merc contacts to join U if you like.If you like I will forward pictures of my cars but being short on computer skills will have to wait till my wife has time as that is beyond me.I think your idea of a Merc club is great & wish you luck in your endevers Gordon Harsell fragor@sympatico.ca 705 924 1702
