Jackie Wilson: Talk That Talk (1959) Brunswick Records. Rarely handed material of quality, Jackie Wilson made the songs great by his sheer will and energy...great performer!!

Ricky Nelson: Be-Bop Baby (1957) Imperial Records. Ricky looking extremely cool on this early Imperial picture sleeve.

Jimi's note: Interestingly, these two singles contain what I consider to be Rick's BEST Rock&Roll numbers, amazingly, featured as the "B" sides!!! I'd rank "Believe What You Say" slightly ahead of "Be-Bop Baby."

    And speaking of James Burton,
he KICKS ASS on this superb rock and roller from Rick's early catalogue. Rick's right up there with the best of Elvis on this one.

Had this one in perfect condition when I was a kid, wasn't a big Stones fan so I traded it. Who knew?! :(:(:(

Elvis Presley: Little Sister (1961) RCA Victor Records. One of the last great Elvis singles. "Little Sister" features a great hook and "His Latest Flame" stays on the right side of schmaltz.

Jimi: "Little Sister" sizzles with a slighly veiled sexuality that slipped right by station censors, parents and ministers. But the KIDS surely didn't miss it! Great tune, and one of Elvis' most under-appreciated. IMO, had he done it in 1957, it would have better fit his then enigmatic good-boy/bad-boy image. As it was, it charted fifth on the Top 100 chart.

Yardbirds: Heart Full of Soul (1965) Epic Records. [I'm betting nobody can accurately name this line-up from this almost constantly evolving group. Don't ask me, 'cause even after looking it up, I still had one wrong, one unsure. Clapton's the easiest, of course.]

Little Richard: Good Golly, Miss Molly (1958) Specialty Records. Little Richard almost looks subdued here!

Chuck Berry: Rock and Roll Music (1957) Chess EP. Chuck Berry Chess EPs are hard to find, especially covers in decent shape.

Chuck Berry: Sweet Little 16 (1958) Chess Records EP. Said Tom: "Notice big pic of white dorks. Notice very small pic of Chuck. Back in the days when some people were afraid of negroes!"

Dad was an avid fisherman. Built at least two wood boats in his day. I'm not a boat guy by any means but it would be cool to know the whereabouts of at least one of his boats. Probably long gone.
