I live here in CT & a Blizzard just came thru friday into Saturday morning. I got about 40" of snow.Of coarse not all cars are lucky enough to be inside. Some are out side with cover on them.I have a pic of my 40 willys sedan &66 fairlane GT with about 3 feet of snow on them. How I wish I had a hudge barn for all my rides!

If anyone else has their cars outside & got covered in the last snowstorm ,lets see the pics! I can`t be the only one.

No pics but my 50 chevy pickup is under a tarp and 3 feet of snow, the 39 buick is under
a carport but still snowed in. Spent day and a 1/2 shoveling out, then drove over to the
girlfriends to dig her out. 6 feet of snow at the end of her driveway, then about 4 feet
deep till her door- she was trapped inside. Hope the rain tomorrow does not turn it all
    into ice. Jim

What's a "hudge" barn? Never heard that before.

It's like a huge barn, only with an extra "d" for good measure.

I spent about two hours digging the walk to the driveway and roughly half of my wife's car Saturday. Sunday, I started at 0900 and, after finishing her car and the rest of the driveway, dug out my car and helped a neighbor finish digging out her car. I finished about 1540 (3:40 pm). Tad sore tonight. The two plow guys at our place have been doing 12 - 14 hour days trying to get the main driveways open. The are still at it at this hour (2141 or 9:41 pm) pushing back the edges, pushing back mounds of snow and clearing out all of the dumpster areas. And people here are still bitching about the lousy job they are doing. These are the same ones who sit on their asses until just before they have to go somewhere, shovel their driveway out into the main driveway, back their car out into the main, then clear the snow off of it in the main driveway. Harumph!

Only got 22 inches here but the skiing was incredible. Plowed the driveway friday night, sat morning early and did the final cleanup sun morning. The poor 57f100 is buried in the backyard till spring. Had an awesome weekend though!

Let's put this in perspective. I'm 62 and haven't seen 40" of snow in my whole life even if you added all I've seen together.

    It's winter.
    It's snow.
    big deal.

  17. We had between 22" and 27" where I am on the Island. Usually anything 12" and less is no big deal. This crap was wet underneath especially where it puddled up from the earlier rain.

We went outside to deal with the mess, my wife looked at me and said, "we need to invest in a small tractor and plow.". Which may not be a bad idea. If any of us had a real medical emergency, we couldn't get out and help coundn't get in.

With the unpredictable winters and hurricanes, gettin' so that almost everyone needs a generator and at least a snowblower.

  18. For those of us that have had heart attacks already and don't relish the idea of another one, 24" inches of snow in one shot is a big deal.

  19. anybody have any kids knock on your door, looking to make some money shoveling?
we did it, way back when.

We only got around 8" of the white stuff. Today they said that we would have a dusting and it's been snowing all day. Roads were very slippery on my way home from work.

This thread reminds me of all the things I should be thankful for:

    1. Hudge barn
    2. Tractor
    3. Not 40" snow
