Well fellows, I found a really nice truck on CL in Rhode Island. Oops, now it's in Ca. He's on a oil rig working for Chevron. He's got a little personal trouble and is willing to sell below value so it can be yours, or mine, for $4800.00. It's in the hands of a shipper and the first buyer fell through. But, he did pay the shipping costs already so, it's ready to go. It's just the first buyer couldn't get a loan. Darn! Now all you, or I, need to do is send name address and phone number, cell preferably, and he will have the shipping company take care of all the arrangements. You see, he gave them power of attorney while he is on the oil rig and working for Chevron. So it can be shipped right away. Damb guys, can we help this guy out? Is this such earth shattering news to you that you felt the need to share? I'm not getting it.... I think we all know by now that there are scams everywhere.... Go out in the shop, and hit something with a hammer.

Yep and his girlfriend or sister is stationed at Fort Carson and about to be shipped out and needs to get rid of her 18,000 car for 3500 and she has someone who can ship it. Those adds run daily in about every Craigslist in the country.

I saw a scam on Ebay a couple years back involving the shipping thing. It was an old guy selling a restored '60 Plymouth conv. Luckily, Ebay has the Q&A from customers displayed, so I sent up the flag to him, and he thanked me. Hew as wasn't aware it was a scam. Just doin' my part!
Thanks I have had enough viruses wipe out my pictures that I was to lazy to print to open anything I didn't know.

You know...we're just a bunch of car folks that enjoy trading stories. Try to imagine we're sitting in YOUR garage, and just chatting about whatever comes up. Someone relates this scam story, would you call him out like you just did the OP here? Likely not. No need to get nasty with your fellow HAMBers, sometimes we just feel like sharing things that make us shake our head. And....as unlikely as it may seem....there just might be someone on here that has not had the vast experience you have, and could actually learn something from this post.
Boy, does everyone, except the people around me, work on these oil rigs. How many people do these rigs hold anyhow? And why are they all old car freaks.
