last night mounted up the steering column using the old box mounts, fits up nice, shimmed the box to get it centered, they would sit in the back to drive the car, that is were it is once more. also got an idea were the seat will be. once the new axle gets here i can mount up the drag link.

Quick update, I received the new front axle set up the other day, was off an old norCal Willys gasser, thanks again DocAuto!! so we pulled the old tube axle off (it has seen better days) and installed the new one tonight, it sits a couple inches lower than before but i have 2" solid blocks i can use if im not happy with the height. also now i can use the old willys shock mounts once more, its always nice when things just bolt together!!!
next monday the car goes for the rollbar. heres a few before and after pics.

Awesome sedan I wish there were more sedans being built.
Any chance on you bringing her to the "MELTDOWN DRAG" this July? Even if its not driveable it would be cool to have it sitting in the pits

update, we have made some progress on the cage, we had some small setbacks that had to be done before we could get some of the bars in, we relocated the steering back a few inches, had to notch frame for Pittman arm, seats had to be moved back a few inches, I am taking the headers and grill center up to measure for the front rollbar tubes....we are getting there.:D
pics are taken with my cell phone sorry if the suck!!

  12. Vince,
You have me thinking about that old sedan I bought from you. Yours is looking good.

  13. The progress is looking good, will the big block fit with the roll cage tubes or are you sticking with a small block ?

Good question, ive had plenty of time to think about it!!

    1. I need to pull the rearend out, re-weld the brackets for the coil springs ( found a few cracks), put the new 3rd member(thanks Tim Jones) all rebuilt, with new axle bearings & brakes.

    2. get the the cage painted up, firewall installed, start wiring it up.

    3. bolt tunnel ram on the new carbs, headers, get it fired up.
my basement is full of all the stuff I need....time to get er done!

did a few things on the old Willys, putting the engine together to get the firewall measured, I think I am going to put the blocks on the springs to raise it up a few inches had them on my old Willys pickup Gasser, also picked up a cool old Gasser grille from fellow HAMBer drumyn 29, and some new seats from another buddy, that work better than the ones I had.

I got a call last week about an ad I had on craigslist about 41 willys sedan parts , the person on the other end said they had previously owned the Willys in the picture, I was confused, I forgot I put a pic of the 41 gasser in the ad because thats the only one I had at the time, so long story short...... got to talking with the fellow, turned out it was an old friend Roger Lyle from Nebraska who is a Willys guy we havent talked in 15 yrs, so I was was ecstatic to say the least.
turns out he bought the car from the Hennings family after they were done racing it in the eighties, he said he picked up an injected olds for it and after a while he was forced to sell it, and never really knew what happend to till now, so to ice the cake he said he would send me pics in the mail well the arrived today.....so here they are thanks Roger!!!
