In the Natalie Wood pic, it looks like Steve McQueen out of focus in the background.

No, they were Mustangs that George Barris did. I agree that they resemble Pontiac Tempests. I am pretty sure MFG 014 is not GM.

"Love With the Proper Stranger," 1963. Photo thanks
to SelfStyledSiren. Released Christmas Day of '63, this
surprized audiences as a feel-good movie in disguise!
Critics raved, and the movie garnered five Oscar nom-
inations and two Golden Globe nominations!

Just watched the movie this still as taken from - Wings of Eagles, 1957 - a biopic about Frank 'Spig' Wead of the USN - one of the pioneers of naval airpower.
Love the Duke, but while his movies may be 'traditional', movie making has come a looooooong way.
    Cheers.

They look like first generation Mustang convertibles with the 'Camel Toe Option'. Kinda like an inverted Pntiac nose.
Me no likey, though the early, more natural Cher certainly has something about her, and I don't mean Sonny.
    Cheers.

If you watch the movie, "Pearl Harbor", you will see him depicted as the guy who says, "Grab that 50 cal." at the airfield. He was wounded numerous times.

PROTOTYPE MILITARY AIRCRAFT, 1913 - Ignaz “Igo” Etrich of Bohemia designed an aircraft with a distinctive bird-like look. The Taube was taken by German aircraft manufacture Rumpler for use during the early part of World War 1, which broke out in July 1914.

AIR LIMOUSINE, 1913 - Ignaz “Igo” Etrich of Bohemia (then part of the Austrian Empire), designed and built the world’s first enclosed passenger airplane. It carried one pilot and three passengers. The forward section was covered by aluminum skin and had celluloid windows for the comfort of the passengers.

The cars with Sonny and Cher are 65 Mustangs they had a pair of new Mustangs customized by Barris for them If I remember right one had zebra skin side panels and the other was leopard skin.
