1951 Oldsmobile 98 DeLuxe Holiday Sedan. I don't recall seeing this
rear-side trim on anything other than the 98 line, and only in '51. Can
a HAMB Olds fan say if it did appear otherwise?

Before the fall. What an interesting transitional year! The last true Packards
AND the unique Packard-powered Golden Hawk -- some say the fastest U.S.
production car for '56.

Alden Jewell was (rightly, I think) intrigued by the fact that Packard had of-
ficially spun off the Clipper as a separate "make" (a la Imperial at Mopar).
Yet the ad here clearly says Packard Clipper. I always thought they were
sort of ambivalent and, maybe, a bit afraid that the cars wouldn't sell well
without some help from the Packard name. (Ultimately, it didn't make too
much difference, did it?)

 

Today, many car folk wouldn't know of the great, air-cooled Franklins. These
super period magazine ads from car guy Alden Jewell's personal collection
convey a sense of what fine, reliable cars they really were! (Incidentally, he's
very interested in accuracy, so he said if any Franklin afficionado sees an ID
that's off a tad, PLEASE, pipe up. Thanks!)

i bought mine at hamilton hobbies on millville ave in hamilton was there last night night they had 1 on the shelf ive bought 12 of them the one i opened has a outward bow to the body on the passenger side i hope thay arent all like that it isnt bad (the bow) but its there
