Steering wheel, column & sector identification please

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by GAOldsman, Feb 16, 2013.

  1. Well being a third generation enthusiast I clearly do not know every make and their logos (for lack of a better word ) Anyway I inherited my Dad's shop full of goodies and found this steering column, wheel and sector. It looks to be very early as in 20's or up to mid 30's  But the identifying aspect is a boat on the center of the steering wheel horn button. I have done several searches to find the make and year but being it is a boat, skiff or sailboat all of my searches reveal a "helm" like shown below

  So this is why I am polling the experts. Pictures can be taken of this rig if need be. Thanks to any and all replies

  2. Anyone know what car manufacturer used a boat image on the steering wheel center cap?

  4. Thanks Chaddilac. I am still not sure because I looked up Packard steering wheels and couldn't find the image of the boat. I need to go down to my shop sometime this afternoon so I'll snap a pic or three of it to post.

  5. Okay gents I went down and snapped a few pics. What do you think it is from?

  12. I am assuming this straight :)D) front axle goes with the column & sector, just want to be 100% positive because if I decide to sell them maybe the interested party may want the package.

The double-dip tube axle is worth more than any of the rest of that. Even more if you strip all the rusty springs/brakes/spindles off it (usually a half day's work). Hot rodders like to ream the ends for use with Ford spindles. Worth at least a hundred.

  14. Thanks alchemy although I see the steering wheel alone go for at least that by itself

Yeah def looks like 38 Plymouth i have 2 RHD ones in my garage. Quite hard to find one of them here a lot of people using them in their Model A's.

  16. What Alchemy said, those double dip axles are fairly sought after.
