so there is 27 days left till the first day of spring and car is coming along real good . started this project in august and come the spring it will be fully bagged and sheet metal done. trunk is now complete and ready for air management , getting ready to put in the new drive shaft tunnel. so far new brake lines, new exhaust , battery lines , new MC , new wheel wells , air management all wired up
Wow, that looks great, where did you get those access doors?? there great. the trailer fenders look perfect for the job. Godspeed MrC.
thank you the fenders where a great starting point had just the right radius. the access doors are called fuel access doors few companies make them i got mine from jerry bickel racing http://www.jerrybickel.com/fuel-systems/fuel-access-door-surface-mount.html
Maybe it's just how I'm looking at the pics but it looks like you welded your trunk floor to your frame where you wrap around the notch?
got all trunk fab work done made a template of the trunk floor to use so i can get a perfect cut on the panel board then glue the carpet to that so it will be removable . then it will be time to plumb tank in
Well it looks awesome, I was just worried that it could crack at some point. I'm almost to the same point on my car and was looking at how others are doing it. Do you have any pics of your 4-link set up? What'd you use? Keep up the good work and postings.
oh i got ya the cover is basicly cosmetic you could run the car without it doesnt really do much other wise i just wanted to seal up good cause my exhaust dumps out below the car right before my rear end so dont want fumes coming in. i used gambino 4 link dont have pics of it but its the same as all the pics on here just search alex gambino. only other option is a 2 link trailing arm set up
Great job on the tank install very clean and that battery placement looks factory. Awsome. Godspeed MrC.
looking great, when you run your air ride, do you run it off a seperate battery ? Im having problems with my battery going flat due to my compressors being on and then the truck wont start, even with the engine running it goes flat, im thinking about a split charge system with a heavy duty diesel battery . thanks Matt
no i just have one battery and a hundred amp alt. the compressors pull about 20 amps each and i have no other electrical draw other then my head lights . maybe its your wiring what gauge wire charges your battery i am running 0/1 and then 4 to my 80 amp stinger relay . i dont know what comps you are running but the little relays that come with them are ****
Im running what looks to be about 2gauge wiring to the battery and then it goes to less than 8 by the looks of it, going to see about running a 100amp alt and see how that goes, got plenty of room in the bed to run the split charge system but im using the stock battery locator under the cab so limited to the size of the battery thanks for the reply Matt
I probably think not too, going to have a good look at the wiring this weekend as the alt is charging but not keeping a charge, might just be a new battery i need anyway get off here and get on with your build lol need to see some more pics
