no, it doesn't or know one knows?

  4. No, it won't bolt up. The 60 HP is a strange little animal. (I have one.)

the best use for a v8 60 is with an in-out box in an antique midget racer (at least imho).

best of luck with your project, whatever it is.

  7. Wouldn't doubt it, but I assumed the OP was asking about a direct swap.

I know there the same bolt pattern I believe the only issue is the starter recessed needs to be cut into the v860 case.

60 and 85 bolt circles are the same except for...?...one or so holes.
60 starter is way inboard of location for 85...85 is essentially outside the circle, needs only minor relief of edge of bell casting to modify wrong trans...
Other way, 85 trans on 60 would need a hole cut through bell to clear starter drive.
'37-9 60 car used a tiny transmission with oddball U-joint that you would not want to use with any torqier engine.
'37-9 commercials and taxis got the big trans with an added hole and cover for starter drive. 1940 60 cars all got a modified version of 85 trans.

Here's the box I pulled off my 60 couple days ago. Sorry it doesn't show the starter side, you can just see the lump for it.

I have a couple of old engines and one good transmission. Believe they are 40'S vintage Need complete rebuild. Am interested in v8 60 engine and trans if you want to part with them. Want to put into a Crosley....
