What's wrong with the original instrument panel? Hey, it's a Model A !

Here's the dash in my '31 Coupe, from a '50 Ford. I wanted to eliminate the large speedometer hole to install my own speedometer and tach side by side. My auxiliary gauges will find their way into the lower dash where the radio once was.
I wanted to keep the glovebox (full sized) and didn't need the ash tray. It was narrowed up 14 inches (5 1/2 on one side and 8 1/2 on the other) to keep the clock hole in the center so I could install the chrome, flamed skull, which is actually a trailer hitch receiver plug.
Then, I saw a pair of door trim pieces at a swap meet from a '49 Caddy, They were shortened up to fit the doors with some metal welded on the forward edge to "flow" them into the door's A-Pillar post and the dash. The dash (which I'd already finished-off on the ends) then had to be "notched" so the curved Caddy pieces would curve into it.
Still workin' on the finish work, but it's gonna be different.

Minor modification to the original dash and removal of 80% of the fuel tank. Running a 1950 Mercury flathead and installing two temperature gages. Not sure where I want to palce the temperature gages.

Here is my dash which is from a 1934 Chevy Master. Notice the fine pinstriping on the dash and trans cover by S Fields.

  11. I built this 50 ford dash for my 29 sedan but sold the car..saved dash and put it in my 33 ford pickup. Used a stock 50 insturment cluster in it monitoring the 59-AB flathead....gauges worked great!

I have idea. I'm told it's a '32 Chevy, but don't know if that's accurate. I like the '34 Ford dash that's in the car now, better, so this one is now in the parts pile. Wanna buy it?? :)

Ignition Switch under the Steering Column...The Speedhut Guages are only 1.1" deep so do not have to cut the tank for clearance

Here's the one in my 29 Coupe. It's a 57-62 Ford pickup dash insert with a plywood, custom made dash that matches the revel lines in the original gas tank and also built up to match the dash insert.

I think I've attached the 55 Plymouth dash I cut down and put in my coupe. Stuffed the old gauge pods with new auto meter gauges. Worked out great.
