A quick look at Bristol Cars in Wikipedia, first paragraph, will explain the BMW connection.

Signs say Washington but they are Oregon State Signs ( read the small print at the top of the signs) and this is at the bottom of Breeze Hill north bound on I-5 and the Hwy 26 route would be the 405 freeway that goes thru old town on thw west side of the river.

For reference, in later years one could find a board highway across the desert sands out of Yuma.

The style of shoe that has a sharp pointed toe are called by the slang name "Winklepickers" 'cos you use a pointed stick (cocktail stick) to get the winkles out of the jar. (I guess, can't stand seafood).

The picture is definitely English and there's a flyer for the Hackney Empire so it's the London area.

    Mart.

I saw that much but was wondering what 744 meant to him.

  16. It's Portland, the old riverfront area. You can see the old Oregon Journal building in the background.

Readers Digest version: Barney found a deal on the motorcycle and convinced Andy that the Mayberry Sheriff's Dept. needed a motorcycle in its "fleet" for traffic control. Of course, Barney drove everyone nuts, racing up and down the street and ticketing people who exceeded the speed limit by a mile or two.

    Hilarity ensued....

Not your typical posed shot of law enforcement showing off what they reaped in a bust. I wonder what the story is. Check the crude one leaning against the lathe (wow). A couple look like sporterized Krags, not really the stuff favored by the bad guys.

I would like to commend all those die hard posters that built this thread. I started on page 1 back right before Christmas 2012. I reviewed as many pages a day as I could and finally finished up today. The thread is addictive!
I am a 66 year old baby boomer. Thank you all for the history lesson and the trip back in time.
