The Fish Inn of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Trusting my first impression: When I first saw it, I thought, "Gunsmith in his little shop." Lots of what appear to be mostly well-used, well-worn hunting guns.

But I could be wrong. Maybe he was the smith for a Colombian cartel.

 

I couldn't help laughing a few days ago when people were turned off
by the photo of the butcher shop prominently advertising that they had
plenty of HORSE MEAT available during WWII. My Dad and Mom both
talked about how severely MANY things were rationed during the war,
beef included. So, horse meat was one of the few alternatives, as far as
red meat goes. And is horse meat ever RED! No food coloring needed!

Anybody notice the standee on the counter above, asking housewives to
save cooking grease for EXPLOSIVES? But for the sake of order, many
stores only collected cans (I suppose, often big coffee cans) of fats only
on specific days. Saturday was often an exception, because that was a
busy day at the grocery, what with country folk making their weekly trip
to town for provisions. Funny story (not mine): I remember hearing an
old fella talking about the rationing years and all the salvage drives. He
said their local grocery had a sign posted in the front window that read,
