I hope Everyone likes this, and I have tons of other pics I will add....
I buildt a 34 ford 4 door for my dad, all stock..before this build. This is my 1940 Ford Sedan that started off running and driving. I sold most of the parts on the HAMB (Thanks) that provided me with the funds to build my car.
The build is being done in the back yard of a friend's house with a 2 post lift and a Miller 211 welder. The front has a Mustang 2 type front end, boxed frame..with air bags. It has cross drilled slotted rotors all the way around. The rear is a custom 9" Ford rear end with a strange case, true track posi and 3-89 gears. The rear end has been triangulated 4 Link. The Motor has been stet up for a stroked 302 and I initially had to knotch the fire wall to fit it. Since then ive put in a 3" recess firewall and trans tunnel. It will have an AOD trans. I went with an IDIT steering column and vintage gauges from Autometer. I wanted the stock wheel look so I went with WheelSmith.net.. Who build stock Ford/Chevy wheels, different sizes/offset with stock looking hub caps and beauty rings. The car has 205 width tires up front and 225 width out back. The wheel tuck and i have full left and right steering all the way down. The rear has 13" of travel and the front has 7" of travel. With the addition of the shock the rear had 9" of travel and the front now has 5". I still have to buy the motor but tax time is coming...hopefully.. The car sits 1" off the ground when bags are all the way down for safety reasons.
I changed the wiring and have gone all LED tail lights and turn signals. The headlights are H4 conversion to HID in stock housings. It has a 17 gal gas tank and dual aluminum fuel lines and electric fuel pump.

Thats about all i can think ive done over the past Year...while working 50 hours a week.. I hope everyone enjoys.. ask any questions...

Looks killer on the floor, makes me wonder if I should have gone IFS on mine after all. All that in a year, impressive, I'm still trying to get mine back on the floor, and its been 6 years!

Cool car and build I really like it. I am not trying to stir the pot but have the rules around here been relaxed. When had my 40 back when I first joined the fact that it was a street rod with MII suspension ect and not a traditional rod. It was frowned apon so I just lurked most of the time. I see you are being welcome with open arms which is a good thing.

I wanted it to look stock..at times.. but have good power and drive-ability. I appreciate all the great comments and thought it would give other ideas...Here is my 34 ford 4 door.. all original.. flat head...every nut and bolt taken off and put back on..

  13. I'm digging the '34 and the '40!

Looks like you're stuffing the '40 with some nice parts. Should make a solid driver when you're done.

I have a 40 also, not that nice but maybe one day, question about the firewall change, did you have to remove the stock firewall for the Ford to fit in it or you just wanted that aftermkt wall in the car Thanks
    Also love the 34!

Did the firewall for just more room.. the 302 will fit but in the driver's side the valve cover hit the firewall

I used a 7 or 8 inch rim up front with custom back spacing 205/50/16 up front and 8 inch wide rim 225/60/16 in rear...

Looking back at the pics. Whats the loop in the brake line for on the rear axle? I have never seen that done.

The loop in the brake line is just looks, makes it easier when there is such a short piece to get a good connection on both ends of brake lines.. doesnt hurt anything or affect anything.. havent had any issues.
