DATSUN's so far i have this '67 520 w/ 70K miles on it, a '69 521 that my grandpa bought brand new, and 2 more 521's(1 '70 and 1 '71) that neither of them run but one has a nice cab and the other a nice bed. i was also furtunate enough to come across alot of NOS parts still in the box for these old trucks given to me by my wife's NISSAN dealership. its a sickness!
Old cameras and MCM stuff:furniture, lamps, kitchen doo-dads. I'm getting close to a fully vintage house. just like Johnny Cash says, "One piece at a time....."
Thats a great collection of model boxes you have there! I have a bunch as well (but not displayed very well).
I started collecting a few old gas hand pumps from the 1930's plus I have found a couple of early electric items as well, kinder heavy to move around but great for background patina in my shop.
I found that during a shop clean up that I seem to have collected a large number of old license plates dating 1915 thru to the 1970's. Plenty of boring ones but also a few interesting items as well. Just not enough wall space to attach them to.
More recently it seems the only thing I am collecting is scarces. Had a couple od bad shop cuts that have caused me to lose a bit of time sitting on the side line while they heal. Worst was from good old sheetmetal, got to remember to collect a few shots as well to help stay alive.
I grew up in the back of my dads machine shop. He was a class three manufacturer. That means he made machine guns. I collect a bunch of guns.
I like to collect money. Unfortunately I'm not very good at it. By the way, there's another thread like this.
Easier to say what I don't collect, but recent showings of hoarding on t.v. have helped me wake the F#** Up!! ~sololobo~
Interesting--have collected old west and indian items for 40 years. Will be 70 soon so decided to start selectively shedding some items so wife doesn't have to deal with it if/when I check out. Some items went to collectors and some to Auction houses with a good return. Not done yet. Probably get rid of a car or two as well-don't know which one yet. Time to thin stuff out except for the stuff the kids want.
Currently, I am collecting pic's and ideas for my next project being a 1927 model T coupe hot rod using a 365 Cadillac engine.
