Awesome coupe! Those sedan doors and anti-section are a killer combo. I always wondered what the Green Grenade would look like if was finished…now I know. Your quarter window tweaking is spot on with the heavy chop.

I noticed that you were using ribbed Stones on the front for rollers during chassis assembly…they didn’t make the final cut. Just curious what you didn’t like about them. I thought they would be great for that car.
Also, what size did you put up front?

They are 450 475 x 16. The ribbed tires were just for rolling the chassis around while waiting for the wheels to get painted. I do know Bob considered using ribbed fronts but I think might have changed his mind or simply ran out of time. There is an amazing amount of work that went into this car and it is done in a very methodical manner, always with the end goal of a strictly traditional, era specific product in mind. Lots of heating and bending old Ford pieces and using original parts to achieve a wicked cool non gimmicky old style hot rod.

Brandon: Can you tell me the paint used on the Coupe? BB/CC, or single stage? Thinking already about my build and paint....

  28. Hey all,,, sorry it took a minute to get back in town and somewhat recovered from another great Detroit Autorama weekend. Was good seeing everybody, and meeting new people. Recieved the Street Rodder pick award from editor Brian Brennan saturday night, was a great honor! Let us back track a little...to the finishing of the assembly process..

Here is Brandon doing some cut and buff on the body-
    [IMG]

    All good..

Me color sanding a door so fast that the camera could not capture it.

The RainMan doing some fitting of upholstery
    [IMG]

    Here is some finished interior-
Some striping on the glove box door i did, its got a few accents in some other hard to find spots i ended up doing, look hard for them next time car is out on the town..

Nothing better than a 17 inch Schroeder sprint car wheel..

The interior ended up being a pretty bare bones almost 1940s esque.

Loading up in the box, with Daddy Whitney's SPE fuel car..

  29. Unloading in the lovely downtown Detroit sulfur smell

Although its blurry, I like this shot because it puts into context how small of a car this actually is. With my 6 foot frame next to it, its hard to imagine that with that hard of a chop it would be driveable.

And set up on the floor... If you tripped over the Coors Banquet long neck bottles while at the show this past weekend, I apologize.

And thats about it. Currently car has headed back to old mans shop in VA, for some wiring and finish up work. The Lonestar Roundup is in a few weeks, and I am shooting to drive it down from Cincinnati. Nothing like a 3000 mile round trip on an unproven with only 20 miles on the odometer to shake the bugs out!

Thanks to all involved, everyone who helped with their own areas of craft during thebuild process- we cant do it without you all. Hellbound to Austin in a few, see some of you there
