This is from the 1950 movie 'Hot Rod'. Footage is actually from 1946 as the cars that are present indicate that year. <object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CXkVsC2CmpY?hl=en_US&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CXkVsC2CmpY?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Phil Remington Modified Bill Burke Randy Shinn Tony Capanna No.16. That's a cool movie, kinda dopey, (as were most '50s "B" hot rod movies) but has great flathead '32 roadster sights and sounds! It's also available in DVD.
Love the rough-hewn character of the prewar and immediate postwar gow job! Form definitely followed function in those days, anyone else notice the roughness of those bodies? Thanks again for sharing Jimmy B, I need to take a vacation to NSW to dig through your library!!
Great footage!!! Things haven't changed all that much. Trouble with looking at that in March is it makes me itchy for May to get here!!
Great stuff Jamie! ... Thanks for posting! Yep ... It's HAMBers like Jimmy B that make this forum worthwhile.
THIS HOTROD IS A MURDERER!!!!!!!! IT KILLED TWO PEOPLE! Wow! and all along I thought people killed people. How can I have had it so wrong for so long? I am going out to my garage this very instant and put a bullet into each of my hotrods before they get me. Fella can never be too careful you know.
