Your beautiful old truck was one of the reasons I was inspired to buy a COE.

Check out the dual front wheels. I bet that was fun to steer.

These are from a book that my Dad saved from the discard trash at the high school library.

I have my eye on an old Autocar like the one pictured above , but i haven't been able to get close to it yet. Can anyone tell me if a man that is 6 foot 5 inches and 317 pounds fit in one of these ?

That Linesman totally rocks with that box on it. Where did you find all these gems in Tx?

Well I would say that you WOULD NOT be comfortable inside that Autocar unless you were to stretch the cab... Just my 2 cents...

I got a chance to get the COE inside and started getting something done . I had a guy call me last week and wanted to see if I would show him body working tecniques that something other than the way he was used to(liquid body work) So I got the COE in and got him warmed up to a stud gun ,*******s and shrink disc and he is really excited about it .

He wont be back for a few weeks so I decided it was time to get the project rolling . So I brought in the ch***is I am using which is a 90s Isuzu NPR that someone put a rear cut from a 80s chev 1 ton on . I did some measuring and found the track width was real good and all I needed to do was get the wheels to line up with the fenders . As it turned out I had to move the engine back about 4ft to get the height all figured out . So I dropped the ***embly on a cart that was the perfect height and rolled it back untill I was satisfied with the body location . I then had to cut an area of the back of the cab out to get the engine placed where I wanted it without interfering with the insides .

There was alot of fitting and cutting in the front to get the sheet metal all lined up , but after moving the steering back the right amount and lobbing off the frame back to the spring mounts every thing looks good .

I will post as I get more done as I have to do this between customer work as I already have 3 days into it already . I should get more done on Sat if I dont get too many interuptions . That is unless some of you are so bored with winter that you want to come and pitch in . Dan 507-263-7411

  16. Hey Dan, cool project! I wish I was closer, and didn't have "everything" to do this time of year! Start a build thread. There are a lot of COE guys on here including me.
As a side note, it sure seems like the Isuzu ch***is is making life hard for you compared to some other builds on here? Are you still going to have room for a seat?

Ill show more pics to show what I did on the rear panel. It is cut to the back of the original seat riser and doesnt change the interior space .

I found these photos in the Utah state archives while reasearching the history of my Salt Lake Diamond T. It looks like a 4WD conversion with a rear box that raises and lowers. For what purpose, I have no idea.

#3577 Saw one of those runnin'around out here years ago. It was a stake bed. FWD only. Belonged to a company that specialized in moving safes (strong boxes)

    It's a 78 Eldorado with the 425v8

Eventually I'll put some center caps on it just have to design some fingers to hold the hub caps on.

Cab just mounted on the ch***is
