The Atlas Automobile Company, seen in this circa 1904 photo, was an early dealer for Henry Ford in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The car that is closest to the curb in the center is a Ford Model A Runabout, which is described in glowing terms in the "The Ford" sign just above the garage door.

We have enlargements of this photo and a link to many other photos from The Henry Ford Museum.

From a kid's perspective, there's something pretty cool about scale versions of the real deal.

Funny how a pic will jolt a memory. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY PARTS HOARDER ON THE HAMB.:D In the summer of '75, I helped a local car nut set one of these '56 Windsors up for the Demolition Derby. Four-door sedan just like this! I kept all of the glass and the stainless steel trim. Many years later, all the windows (except the curved rear windscreen) went to a guy in LA who was slamming the same model for a cruiser. The trim is wrapped up in cardboard and still gathering dust in the rafters. Though nobody ever needed the trim (or the rear window), I just couldn't let those parts get destroyed. So, feels kinda good to know most of the windows are across the country, helping to turn heads somewhere in LA, though!

At least you got the "very different" part right. They were hand built. Not a single body panel interchanges.

Track each car made and current known whereabouts on the official '59-'60 Brougham registry:

SWI66, I too get red X's on some of your photos, but only when I'm at work, because my workplace blocks Flicker. But some of your pictures do show up at work. Do you use more than one photo host?

At home, all your pictures show up.
