  11. That car is badass!! You guys in Ohio have the "look" nailed. Nothing flashy, no crazy body mods, and the perfect stance. Mr. Sullivan, your style has influenced a bunch of generations of hot rodders (like me).

I was born and raised in Louisville, and the Southern Ohio, Southern Indiana, and Northern Kentucky guys build some of the best cars in the U.S.

    Scott-
Got any more pictures of anything else you're messing with?

I bought the body shell back in the summer of 1970 (right after graduation). If I remember correctly, I paid $100.00 for it. I put a 327 and Muncie 4spd that I had pulled out of my old Chevy II (I had rolled it over a month before graduation), and installed a set of 4.11 gears. The traction bars were were made from a stop sign post as the 2 inch square tubing was priced right(). I had the car painted by a local guy for $50.00. I had wanted to paint it pasonatepurple, but the paint was almost twice the price of the lime green( both were brand new Mopar colors at the time).
I bought the blue window tint from JC Whitney (remeber that stuff, just load it on and let it drip dry). I wound up cutting the wheel wells out after the car was painted as I couldn't fit a decent size tire under the rear for any traction. This was the first car I took to the drags in October,1970. Ran mid 14's, not bad in it's day. These pics were taken in December,1970.

Here is a couple more old pics. This was my first 55 Chevy. Pd $15.00 for this one in 1968 from a kid in my junior class. Had a “stuck 6 cylinder /power-slide tranny in it when I bought it. I bought a 61 Chevy with a 301 in it and put that in the car along with a 3 spd tranny (the first of many....) with a Hurst Mystery Shifter. I put the biggest TRW springs I could fit in the front end along with the Genuine Suspension lift kit (C type spacers that bolted between the upper ball joint a spindle). Handled awful, but looked great. These traction bars were also made from the same stop sign post. :D I sold the car shortly after thses pictures were taken to buy a 64 Chevy II that I put an econoline front axle under.
