Found this shot of P-61 Black Widow "Tennessee Ridge Runner" with very faded invasion stripes..This one must have seen a lot of action

 

Lots of cool Packard stuff on here lately. I came across this racing Packard with a 300 hp Packard straight 8....

First I saw the dent, then the moulding hanging down...wtf.

 

^^^^^^Looks like the repair area at the end of the assembly line.^^^^^^

 

Are those wheels chrome? Looks like it to me. And raised white letter Firestones.....I wonder how old this photo really is.

 

Paint was being used to detail tires on show and race cars 40 or 50 years before white letter tires were offered by the manufacturers. Chromed wire wheels also existed at that time, but mostly on luxury models.

 

These guys should sell crash helmets...It might be a big market opportunity for them ;-)
