Fred, sorry to read about this, but I think Larry Brown messed with the wrong guy! Good for you for taking it on, most just walk away and the wrong never gets put right.

Let him sue you. Then you can hire a private investigator and bring to light all of his criminal activities. The courts should be really interested in that.

I wonder if its the same father and son who were on a news clip not too long ago about cheating people out of their tax returns.. The old man popped the reporter on the video.. If I'm wrong I stand corrected..

Tfeverfred, I have always enjoyed and stood on your side of the fence on most all of the posts of yours I have read and respect your take on many subjects. This thread sucks for the OP, for us to have to read it and wished we lived in a different world and for the deuchebag LARRY BROWN ,MO that is screwing people.

Your posts here are spot on, pollitically correct, in line with the law and exactly what my Mom would have wanted me to do, but are the furthest from traditional as you could get. Arm chair quaterbacking a deal gone south from the comfort of your apartment on your girls laptop sounds..uhhhh nice. ( no desrespect, you in no way represent any of that last sentence, its just the way I feel when reading your response). There are still a tight group of wrench turning, mid night oil burning, pick up that piece of trash rather than step over it, do. The right thing, teach the right thing, preach the right thing group of guys I humbley call friends that still know how to stake out a trouble maker and throw a blanket party. We still respect cutting the 4 valve stems instead of the tires means something when you don't want them going far. We open the door for his gal and then quietly close it behind her to have a talk with him. My friends have never been in the movies and we avoid being on TV. Sometimes, life can be like it was and a hand shake doesn't turn into a fist. Sometimes you make a fist if you don't get a handshake. Its not marshall law, you don't just walk around punching people in the nose, but you can be effective and fly under the radar with the right group guys.

  5. When I read texasred's post I thougth he thinks like me ,when I read the secondpost I said to my self just like me. Having read the whole deal here about this clown, and then his responce about retracting the post here . I doubt you will get anywhere talking to him . He needs someone to pull him out of the bubble of bullshit he lives in and put him in the real world.

I sent him an email tonight telling him that I was interested in a car but had reservations because of internet chatter about him and a deposit not refunded, He returned an email saying "No, this is not true. I just refused to send a car to someone without it being paid for first" I returned his email with a link to this thread and told him I had no interest doing business with someone so shady. I guess he read the thread.

Hell I bought a car that was only a few hours away and I flew in to check it out before I gave up any cash.

    Just sayin...

I wouldn't worry about his threats of suing you. The LAST place that guy wants to be is in a courtroom!

  12. This makes things tough for folks trying to do it the right way. I've sent a deposit with the agreement to pay the balance when I picked up the car or parts many times.

This just re-enforces the old saying "buyer beware". Get burned one time and this phrase becomes embedded in the back of your memory.

Hope this works out well for you, keep us posted.

Right now what we know is a breach of contract over the purchase of the car. The guy has cars for sale all over the net, which is unlikely that he owns at all. Be happy that you didn't send the full amount. I would contact the attorney generals office in every state where this guy is known to do business. Let the authorities do their job. There may already be an investigation. Don't make any threats as you have more to lose as this guy does and he knows it. Most people are honest but unfortunately some are not.

oh, and guess what.. no refund this morning. I think I bought myself a project because I plan on making this guy well known.

And Larry, I know your reading this You just fucked the wrong person over. I will continue to tack your every scamming deal and make it known until one day you fuck up big time and you will do time.

A few years back I had a guy sell me some parts for 500 bucks... after a month of run-around, and also finding out through the grapevine he was a scammer, I found myself with an extra day of vacation to burn.... so I made a road-trip to his shop (google is wonderful for that), and made a surprise visit to him.... I did get the parts, and leveraged half of my money back...
$500 comes hard for me, so there was no way around the principle of the thing.....btw, this kind of tool is not going to call the cops, it would open too many problems for himself...

Okay, I'd done here, I'll forward this to the Detective assigned to your case.

  18. Wow...that sucks big time to get scammed like that! Go get him, LONO!

I've been scammed once through ebay. The guy sent me a cheque. I waited until the cheque passed, then I sent him the item...a few days later, I was notified that the cheque bounced!!! I always thought that once it passes, you're good to go! Apparently not...

This has got me thinking . years ago , back around 92-93 i was12 or 13 years old and looking for my first project . I wanted a 55-57 chevy badddd and my dad found a fella that had alot of them up in Quincy/ Ursa IL . We talked to the guy on the phone and he said he had the perfect project in a 57 two doo post and if we came up to bring a trailer .

Well i remember pulling in and there were cars EVERYWHERE , tri five chevys just littered the place and there outside was a bronze and white two door 210 57 that was rough but saveable . He took us inside and started down pulling out all kinds of trim etc.

Now in the main part of his shop it looked like a showroom , a 55-56 and 57 were all located on a black and white checkered floor and fully restored to gorgeous ! After he drug all this trim out he said " ok lets go to the office " . Thats where he said " hmmm , now we got down trim for a belair right? you want a belair ?" Thats where the interesting stuff started. The guy pulls out a HUGE photo album and opened it up . in every square where a picture should be was a folded up title and a vin tag to match it . He then pulled out another cigar box that was full of vin tags as well and said " we can make it whatever you want it to be "

I learned a big lesson from my dad that day , my Dad said " I dont think so Pardner, we are not going to be buying any cars from you , we are late for supper and have a long drive ahead of us " . We pointed the car back towards home and away we went . But like i said , i was 12 or 13 and cannot remember the fellas name .

Lono, I think you're doing the right thing going legal. Having dealt with the scum of the earth before you just never know how low they will go, threaten your family, burn your house... We, at least most of us, have morals that prevent that sort of behavior, tempting as it is to take matters into your own hands. Not to say this Larry Brown is capable, you just don't know and it's not worth staying up nights worrying about it. My 2¢

Good Job Lono , i looked at te facebook page . Good job on calling the guy out . I did notice going through the pics on the FB page . If someone asks if they can coe and see the car then he has an excuse as to why he cant show it to them .. What a piece of work.
