There is lot of variations, but in US almost all use polyurethane top coat! Color is whatever , but usually use white/black/gray

With buff can be some problems! I do this before, but it is not the best thing! There is possible to leave some buffing liquid on surface and it will make some rainbow on silver!

thats the Degreasing stage of this process.. just check my videos, I do it ALL the time,

I usually never cut and buff because I am a bad bad buffer and the time I did it I was not able to reproduce the Mirror like finish of fresh paint. so the silver never looked as bright....BUT it gave me a stainless steel look, so now I know how to reproduce this finish.

actually there are two ways to reproduce such a lesh shiny look. the first one is the one I just told you guys, the last one is to wet sand the final clear coat with a fine 2000 grit paper

It is possible cromarte! Do it like this!

I polish only if i had a problem with paint- some dirt, hair or something stick to paint!

    1. Sand paper 1000 and 2000
    2. Polish with polishes
    3. I use 3M polishes yellow and green!
    4. Degreasing ang and Degreasing and Degreasing to wash off all the polishes. U can use only good professional painters Degreaser 10-15$ per 1L

With polish u can get even more glossy and shiny surface than from paint!

wow thanks for the info Sudzhis I always wondered on how to go about doing a car wheel rim without having the coating damage by careless people at the time of mounting the rim and the wheel.. so deflate the wheel and do the process while the rim is already mounted on the wheel... awesome

1.p.. Yes it looks, ok, but nor for me! In real it is little worse!

    TIPS.

    1. Dont put wheels on horizontally position! This way u get lot of leak and lake on wheels and it damages it! Put vertically!

    2. Take care with clear coat! (with tinted clear)! Spray camera is bad view and wrong light angles!

    3. Unmount rubber from wheel! That can take some problems, but with silver it will be much easier, because there was lot of unwanted liquid on surface!
