    Thank you sir!

Made some more progress last night.

Planning to pull the bed back off and send it out to get sandblasted this weekend. Then hopefully up to my painter buddy's shop for some love.

With the bed out of the way, I'm planning to pull the cab and do some finish work on trans mount and crossmember.

    Pics to follow.

Look forward to watching your build. I'm also interested in locating '38 Willys sheet metal, and trim parts. Contact me if you have anything available....

I know you're done, but would it have helped to have a radius on your bending block in the shape of your final roll?

Not sure where I'm at........... Somewhere in the middle I guess?

Plucked the cab and bed back off to handle some final frame adjustments, set rear pinion/driveline, etc.

Quick shot of the trans mount I made:

Just plugging along. Getting close to putting the cab back on for (hopefully) the last time and mounting the glass nose.

What's happnin', I spotted the fenderwell headers on your motor, and thought those might be speedway's fat fender style. If so, do they look any good? 1/4" or 5/16" flange plates? Just wonderin'...bowtie40

They are speedway I think. Got then off Craigslist. They should look ok after I lob off those ugly-ass collectors and make my own.

Hadn't seen your thread befoe so just caught up, looking good.
i have the Speedway springs on mine and they do seem a little stiff, I will probably tune them by removing a leaf,

Yeah, I'm anxious to drive it and see how the springs feel and how much they settle if at all.

Actually, I traded Troy some parts in exchange for making the firewall for me. Not that I couldn't do it, but would take me way longer and it probably wouldn't come out near as nice. Plus with him taking care of that, I can focus on other areas. I'm not sure exactly what he's going to come up with, I just gave him the measurements I need to clear the motor. We'll see!

Scored some seats at the Portland swap meet. A cool $30 was a nice price and it's exactly what I was needing. Love the diamond inserts.......

I will be removing the head rests and I'm having them cleaned up and dyed the same shade of red as the rest of my interior.

    Boom:

Wow, really nice! Gonna be a great show of Gassers at Eagle Field with a writer from one of the Gasser magazines. Keep up the great work!

Did you end up selling the nose at the swap meet? I saw you cruise by Thursday night with them in the bed of a truck! Great build, just curious what you are shooting for in terms of a completion date? Toutle Drags?

I didn't sell the nose! Everyone that stopped:

"how much for the Willys nose?"

"$1500 and you can have the running boards too"

    "Wow, that's a good deal."

    "yep.........."

"Wish I had a use for it"

    "mmmmmmmmmmmK"

    haha.

The truck should be done in about a month. I'm hoping it will make it to Eaglefield in May. We'll see.....

It will be at Toutle for sure though.

  20. I like the seats, good score. Here is what those headers look like longer collectors added....

    Awesome- thanks Kev.

I'm going to build something similar with cutouts. Shouldn't look too bad.

It is and it isn't..... I've mostly been driving it. I doubt the Willys will be making it to Eaglefield, but that's ok. It will still be done this summer.

We've been focusing a little more on another Willys pickup, a custom that my friend built for his daughter. She is graduating and moving in August and we want her to be driving it before she goes. So for now, that's the goal. Once it's done, I'll get back on my gasser. I'm still plugging away on it, just the sense of urgency for May is no longer there.

It will be at the eruption drags without question.

  30. Hey buddy, I PM'd you about your front sheet metal for sale but haven't heard from you. I believe I have a solid buyer. If the parts are still available, please let me know.
