    I really had to do a doubletake here. In 1962 my uncle was stationed with the Army in Iran and asked my father to pick up his '58 Bel Air four-door hardtop at the dock in New York. My dad told me how he and another of my uncles drove to NYC and they watched the car being offloaded from a ship on a pallet using a big crane, and they picked it up and drove back to Chicago. For a second I thought somebody had photographed this event until I looked at this photo of my uncle's car:

    When I worked at a dealer checking in the new cars when they came off the trucks I got paid a percentage of the damage I found above my hourly wage and would like to have looked over this load as I know there is some damage to be found.

    These might hold up a little better since I doubt they had much covering the floor but the 50s cars could have the new fangled carpet in them which will hold alot of moisture if not dried properly.

    I believe you will find this to be 1938 rather than '28. :)
