The least I remember paying for gas was $0.19 during a gas war in the early 60's. Gas wars were the coolest of wars

Steve's Tower in the Sky 1960 in Fayetteville, NC. This was a former drive-in movie theater that in 1957 was turned into a drive-in restaurant. On top the glass tower housed a DJ for WFNC who took requests and played them on the air.

I graduated on a Sunday, and we were married the next Saturday. Proud isn't the word, thankful is more like it.

  8. That photo is from San Diego History Center. Here's what is in their photo description-
"Thelma's Dash Inn at Euclid & Market 1931 Chevrolet Coupe, 1931 Indian 4 motorcycle"

  14. Well there's no starlets or studs in these photos, just vintage shots from the Tacoma Washington area, mostly transportation related.;)

Anyone know what these two are? At first, I thought Lincolns but I'm not sure that is right.

In Australia "root" means something else,,,,,,

  19. The notes with the picture says "possibly Jordans.

  20. There were several different jingles used for Brylcreem over the years; that is one of them. One I remember is:
Brylcreem, a little dab'll do ya, Brylcreem, you'll look so debonair, Brylcreem, the gals will all pursue ya, They love to run their fingers thru your hair."

The car on the right is a 1956 Ford Fairlane. The trunk lid has been removed and a pickup type. bed inserted.
