Who's coupe is that with the Orange+ Willys?

  4. The coupe next to the Orange Plus is an early version of the Bad News Willys now owned by Vic Young. It was owned by Hank in Santa Barbara back then. Vic bought it from Hank.

And Hank still regrets selling it to this day. That car is badass - is the second bottom pic taken at Char West?

I got a call on this car about 3 1/2 years ago the seller said he was buying a home In florida and wanted to move this car cheap at 45,000.then It was on ebay about a month later and never sold at the buy now was like $67,000.so It looks like somebody bought It back then and was out to make a fast $22,000.

Same car. Currently owned and loved by Dennis and Henrietta Johnston - Havasu. Make time to go back and read the whole thread, very educational and fun.

Wish they would remove the tacky faux 12 spokes which only have ten spokes. They look so wrong on a Willys - in fact the look wrong on anything much other than an altered....

Another Grist Bros '41 Willys shot. We believe it was in 1964, running B/G at the Winternationals. It's the only photo that we have of it running chrome rear steelies. We believe that a SBC was put in it for this event. Anyone have any different input?

Carl's Willys truck was a 1942 model. When he found it, it was still gray and had U.S. Navy lettering on it. Cab was steel and repaired with lead then painted with black laquer. Carl made the pickup box and did most fabbing himself at home. The front end was 'glass. It ran in BB/GS with a blown small block, two port injectors and a clutch-turbo by Vitar. Interior was upholstered in light blue metallic vinyl. It was a first class build. This was the first race car I crewed on.

Paul Frost has been a good friend of mine for 30 years or more, and before that I used to watch him race his Willys gassers. We had dinner together with our wives the other night, and he brought me some photos from his past. Below is one shot of him pulling a wild wheel stand in his AA/G 41 Willys at the US Nats in Indy in 1966. [IMG]
His photos from the next season, 1967, show the same car now fitted with Paul's own designed wheelie bars on back! LOL.

Paul has now agreed to manage our first-ever Vintage Racing Exhibit Building at our spring swap meet. It will be at Springfield, Ohio on May 24-26th, 2013. Locals call it "CARS & PARTS SPRINGFIELD SWAP MEET & CAR SHOW." Meet Paul and other racers from yesteryear there.

I'll post more photos of Paul's Willys gassers as time allows.
