I just bought 35 spline race axles, bearings, seals and Strange spool from Dutchman axles for my Willys Coupe! Great price and VERY AFFORDABLE, $600!! Talk to Derek and he'll get you set up.
When this thread started I was thinking "man that's rough makes my project look good" now its the opposite It's been awesome seeing this car come to life!
I had a snag with the balancer as it was to large so I went to a smaller one($450 for new and $450 for the large one), works great and is ready to be raced. I also got the frame from sandblaster(hasbro in san fernando $100) and it's time to box it. I called a friend to laser cut metal for my frame and add swiss cheese holes to match the x-member, hopefully it won't look lame. I'm also deciding which gear to install first, 4.88 or 4.11 in my fresh olds rear. I really need to call Kiwi Kev and beg him to make me some headers and a brake pedal. I'm mounting my motor high so I'm sure I'll need hand made headers, gee I wonder why they call Drag Racing a Drag?
I'm getting stoked about this willys coupe build! I had my friend Ron Pope make my rear elliptical spring brackets with aluminum inserts and swiss cheese frame boxed pieces. WWW.EZTBUCKET.COM Ron Pope 865-932-7541 TOLL FREE 855-TBUCKET
I finally got all the machine work done on my vintage front Volvo disc brakes for this 1940 willys coupe. I had a friend take a lathe to the center of my alternator pulley so it could clear the drive mandrel.
I got a little work done today on the 1940 willys coupe! I took my fronts springs out to Fernando at Atlas spring to check spring rate and to our surprise the damn main leaf snapped like a twig. I replaced all of the brass bushings with aluminum since it'll be a drag car, gotta make it tight and stiff(thats what she said). http://www.atlassuspension.com
