Not sure when or where, maybe Saugus? Maybe Tony Nancy's flathead roadster on left?

Last one in the set, Curbside Classics, "Victory is Sweet" posted by Paul Neidermeyer, that's all I know, but want to give credit where credit is due:

Found more, captioned Arioso Brothers, Santa Maria, this would be the DeSoto-powered Willys from Tulare, on the right:

Caption from the site I got the above photos, from sub-site: oilstick.com:

Santa Maria, CA Old Drag Photos - Approximately 400 photos will be available in the coming weeks.
Fred Iaia complied the photos for us. I understand they used to race on Foster Road in Santa Maria, CA
    and SLO Airport.

Looks like Tony Nancy in the roadster, maybe Adriance Appliance in the other lane?

Looks like it used to be Jazzy Nelson's Fiat competition coupe? Maybe still is, but not right color?

Dick Guyette's "Isky Clown," beautiful blown Olds powered car...if memory serves me correctly, Dick was a Hollywood musician who raced at both the drags and Bonneville

Looks a lot like Tony Nancy's flathead powered roadster, but the number is wrong, maybe after Tony sold it to build his next Buick powered Fuller-built 22jr?

  24. This is Tom Bryant's "Tom Thumb Special". Tom was in the Road Runners in the 60's. He ran this roadster at 1/4 and 1/2 mile drags, and El Mirage.

    Thanks 296 and oilstick.com!
I have been looking for pics or info on a 35 or 6 Willys called the Paladin Special. Joe Airoso remembers it as the first supercharged gasser he ever saw. Here is one pic from that site of Bruce Keiser and his coupe at Santa Maria in 1958. That would be 9 years after "the first official drag race event" at the airport in Goleta, CA and not that far away up the coast. Any more pics or info out there on this significant car?

I went back and searched the entire oilstick site, but no pictures of the Paladin Special...maybe other central california guys might remember it...if Joe Airoso says it was the first supercharged gasser he ever saw, it has some real history in it! (you have me curious now, going to look at some back issues of Drag News for '58, given its significance, it just might be in one of them, Drag News did cover central California (SLO, Santa Maria, Taft, etc) pretty well back then.

Not going to post too many more from the above site, but this one is for Troy Cagle, captioned "Cagle & Ganey, Famoso, March 59:"
