Vintage shots from days gone by!

Maserati 450 S design on Costin principles built Zagato (found some shots of a white Camoradi (?) with a Camm tail and MO 79 plates recently ...)

 

Its a Maserati with a body designed by Frank Costin ( who also desined the Lotus Eleven , the Nathan Costin, Lister Costin and others ) but built by Zagato.

It was built to run at Le Mans.

The guys at Zagato did not exactly follow his design and it was not a succesfull car.







After the unsuccesful race it was cut in half, lengthened and painted black ( different windshield too )
And I think it was used as a road car.







It is now painted red again, but still with the later modifications.

That guy your talking about lives in the next town from me. Those planes were baught at auction. He in his 90s and in bad health. One of the mill buildings burnt to the ground. I believe the state is on his ass to clean up the place.

Negative...my tour was from '63-'66.

 

1938 poster of that year new streamline design, line debuted 1902, they rolled out a red carpet for passengers, where the term 'red carpet treatment' originated from.
