You are probably right on the rego.Wherever it came from it was a nice truck.
Still sure it won an award.Rod Hadfield and Norm were there with the Aussie Desert Cooler stand and talking Bonneville with Pete Aardema from Escondido.
Pete will be staying with us tomorrow night before he heads back to the USA on Wednesday and does more work on his record breaking salt cars.

Now this post brings me to the "surprise" I mentioned at the start.
The Hudson was invited to join the static display of what the ASRF called the "Elite Car Show" (their words).I was very happy to assist with putting the car in the display to give an added attraction for the entrants and the public.
It was busy all weekend in the display area.No awards were given for this and it was just a great opportunity to bring the Hudson down and still have the roadster there as well.

Anyway at the presentations, which had to be moved because of the weather,I was elated to get the Top Roadster award.
My mate and I were about to leave after that was presented but decided to wait because of the rain and then they announced that the roadster had also won Top Street Rod of the Nationals.Wow!!!!What a finale for a great weekend for us.

Here are some pics I took of the event. It was a great weekend. I'll post more pics now that I have worked out how to do it - just have to compress their sizes.

Must've been more than 1200 cars - haven't heard the actual count.

I really like the yellow '51 Ford Ute, all it needs is WWW, hub caps, chrome grille, chrome bumper and new chrome rear view mirrors then it would be a great custom.

Thanks for posting all the cool pictures. :D

Hudson48, Thank you for all your efforts taken in posting the photos of what appears to have been one heck of an event. Maybe some day I can attend. I do want to come visit your country some day. It is on my bucket list. Take care and be safe.

Thanks for the pics, I keep searching for my old 36 Ford 3-W that I sent over there a couple of years ago but the new owner must keep it under wraps. Have you ever seen it around? Larry
