I thought i would provide an update to this thread with the recent changes that have been made which include reverse chrome wheels and the front end being rebuilt. A few other changes have been made but those two are the most significant. I think they are steps in the right direction. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Really like what you've done here, great job! Love the 61 to 64s done in that theme. Some of my favorites are of that era. Very nice work! With the small block, would this be considered something of a jr. stocker?
Thanks! Yes, Jr Stocker could work given the class started in 1964. I set it up as it would have raced in 1963 which would be either C or D Class. I have D/C on the window for D class. I attached a picture below where that can be viewed.
Looks killer. I am setting up my 64 galaxie very similar. Just ordered the tires from towel city myself yesterday. You also running there 27" front runner?
Love the Galaxies too! Make sure and update with pictures of your build. I am running 7.10x15 Super Cushion Goodyears on the front. They offered more height and fit the period look i am going for.
Awesome car. I liked it with the steel wheels, but it looks even better with chrome reverse. That car is far nicer than any '60s race car! Well done! I'm sure you've seen Dave Strickler's "Old Reliable" '63 409 car, but have you seen footage of him racing it at the '63 Nationals? (skip to 2:30)
Thank you That is a great video. I had never seen that particular footage. Probably the most notorious of all the Z-11's. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent job! LOVE the chrome reverse wheels-AND- they're REAL chrome reverse! Way to go. Beautiful Impala.
