    Roy is right on the money again. Go with a steel flywheel 30 ish lbs. at this point and your car should be just fine. Brian

    Myron;;
    This is the 64 AFX Comet that crashed at Detroit Dragway "GOLDEN COMET"
    See thread 195 for picture of the wreck. This was caused from a broken left Axle and not having a roll cage. It was parted out and scraped, the owner could care less about that car, just another Comet back in those days. I have the front fender to that Comet. Myron when you stopped over last Oct the Owner Lou was there later. I think you already left. ---AFX DAVE--

    That the Golden Comet fender with a Comet Hipo 9" rear end. Do Not use that type housing with the necked ends with spring style traction bars. When Dragracing you will twist the differantal section up and bending the housing. When using the lift bars like the 64 AFX Comets it won't twist the houseing.

    Any ones have, or seen, any 4door Comets(non-wagon) run?

    I know theyre not sought after, but there had to be a small time guy that made one semi famous.

    John Petrie also had a Sox and Martin prepared Duster or Demon pro stocker back in the early 70's.

    The red '65 Sachs and Sons Comet was the white '64 car with '65 quarter panels and front end.

    Myron;I was looking at the 65 Comet in your post #6695,WOW,I remember when we were allowed to run those 7" slicks in Stock Eliminator,we thought,look out world,we are set now!!!Then a few years later we got 9" slicks,they worked great,but then I started breaking driveline parts!!!! ROY.

    Anyone have the class definitions for 64/65 racing? Want to do a stock class but wanna know what class i would fall into with my weight and power. Im guessing somewhere about D/S? Gonna be going to a couple vintage drags and wanna look the proper part with some signage on the side. Got a name already.
