I just googled 60's IH truck bed; came up with this, looks like it but doesn't have that little ridge along top of bedside...

 

Did any of the early 60s Studebaker trucks have a bed like that.

I knew the car back in the 70's and was surprised as hell to see it after all these years. Back then it had a 392 and I'm presuming its the same.
They got rid of the straight axle and it's sitting on a Volare clip now.

This has been sitting for probly 20 yrs, tilt frt, straight axle,, some sort of poly eng.

That's the emergency escape hatch. I like the ratchet strap holding the sides together.

 

What behind this gem? BTW,
I think I could fix that door.......

 

I've been watching this 67 at an abandoned house for 15 years. All the neighbors know is that the owner lives in another town and doesn't want to sell it.

Go to the county office and find out who owns the place if you haven't yet, always take what the neihbours say with a grain of salt.

 

i wouldn't feel bad about turning that one into a 60s style drag car

 

If you are speaking about the Vette, anything you do to modify one that old just makes it much less valuable. People who buy classic Vettes abhor anything that isn't stock.They aren't actually hot rodders.

 

i have a 66 that my dad left me that i just want to leave as a cruiser, but I always wanted to build one that is along the same style as the Jardine headers coupe or the old Bardahl car

 

This is true, but if you keep all the stuff you change and dont cutup and destroy anything, you can always put it back to factory. Best of both worlds.

This 37' Chevy truck is sitting on the other side of my property fence. I approached the owner several years ago about the truck, he told me it was his fathers who died and he learned how to drive in it. He died a few years ago and I again approached the family and it was held in trust for the third generation son. Since then, it has been shot up, windows smashed out, and rats and mulch have done the rest. So SAD.

 

I got 1,000s of pictures of cars laying around my area, been watching some of them for years.....Here is a few from a couple weeks back

I agree. The neighbor may want it for himself.

 

base model vettes are worth about the same restored or nicely modified---rare option cars are where the value can be adversely affected by modification---"origional" cars are the most valuable of all if well preserved...

 

Is that a Willys peaking out down at the bottom in the middle? (page 326 #6505)

No it's a ford

 

Know where an abandoned wrecking yard from the fifties is. Use to pick up a part now and then from the elderly owner. The old guy died and his son lives a state away. Called him about the stuff. He says that stuff is worth a fortune. Gonna save it and probably sell it all together later. Made him a price, but no way. Been about ten years and nothing. Brush and vines had it wrapped up last I saw it.

This bed was originally made by Dodge from '58-'60, then the tooling was sold to Studebaker to put on their Champs
