They appear to be "6 pin" hubs which means you either use 6 pin racing wheels or change to a different hub. If those are Ford spindles not much problem. If they're International truck, good luck.

Could be Ford truck or IH, kinda look aftermarket. IIRC Ford steering arm holes were wider (4-3/4"?) and IH were 4". More measurements would help.

    More pieces for the puzzle:

The kingpins are 13/16" No dust covers. Have a v-groove machined in top and bottom.

The hubs are drilled both for pins and 5/8 in a 5 x 51/2 pattern

Steering arms are spaced 4-1/4 vertical, 3-1/4 horizontal, stamped TAAK3105B

F100 looks to be on the spindles.

    28 - 48 ford kingpins are 13/16

  7. Look like ford, but measure the hole pattern on the set of countersunk holes, those are the factory holes. That should tell you if GM or Ford 5 on 4 3/4" or 5 on 4 1/2" Good luck. Ted

Too bad no one still makes this style axle for rods or sprinters, they are just so sweet looking. Gary

Vegasparky Are you thinking these are an OEM hub drilled for drive pins? Oddly enough only one side is countersunk. Thanks for the PM. Tell me about your avatar?

Gary You are so right. I tried, but I just couldn't resist that "smile!"

3105 is the Ford root # for spindle, so Ford for certain. Don't know what year and size the TAAK designates because it is beyond 1948...

Thanks Bruce. Just got back from the Ford parts counter. Counterman, who is even older than I am, said he had never seen a spindle like mine. He indicated too, that 3105 is Ford for right hand spindle, 3106 left. TAAK remains a mystery, as his computer only goes back to 1980: So much for the idea of new hubs and brake partss from the Ford house. But we have narrowed the search to 1948-1980!

I forgot to look at home...I MAY have a catalog that will pick up that number. Will try to remember.
Also look in old CAE type catalogs...some of them give details on the IH and Ford truck spindles commonly used.

Dave Cooper, Green Sales' truck expert, identified the spindles as Ford truck 53-56, F100 or F250. One problem solved, but then, he doesn't have any brake parts....

Called ECI regarding their disk brake conversion kit for 57-64 1/2 ton pickup. My measurements match their jig for mounting bracket! Basic kit on order! Ralph may not have solved the riddle, but seems to have solved the problem.
