    Tio Geo-
Thanks for the offer. You too Dale.
    Jeem-
I can always count on you for help. The down side is you would have to drive it to "patina" the drivers seat and I don't think I could subject you to that.

  2. I REALLY wish I was coming up to the L.A. Roadster Show this year! I have loved following this build BIG TIME!

  3. If it's who I'm thinking, that statement is very true. His old business partner (JJ) is the complete polar opposite.......

You guys are right about personalities. I must give PC credit though. He did help us on the original build which allowed us to have P&J help us on the ch***is rebuild.

The get together will be Saturday starting around 11:30 A.M. and ending whenever the last person leaves.

Since I'm on a streak with you guys helping me find things, I think it's time to get help on a more difficult item. Again, I'm not looking for free.

When we started the Sedan the first time we had a huge fuel leak out of the Stewart Warner fuel pump. I either need to find another pump or locate someone that can rebuild this one. Any ideas???

  7. Rick-
Is your Stewart Warner pump one of the old 240A pumps? Tall, rounded bottom, inlet/outlet fittings on the top? I did a quick search and found that S-W no longer makes the rebuild kits. You can find them on ebay from time to time, but they can be hard to find, and many of those kits are old NOS (New Old Stock) and there's no guarantee that the rubber parts are still serviceable. There is good news, though. The S-W pumps were actually made by Walbro for S-W. I made a phone call to Auto Performance Engineering (877-427-3872), and they have the bellows kits for your pump. The electrical rebuild kits for those pumps are no longer reproduced. But, you said that your pump was a leaker, so maybe a bellows kit is all you need. If you call the number, talk to Ron.

Here's a great thread on how to rebuild your pump:

I agree. Give me a little more time and I will be happy to accommodate you.
This Sunday I will be "fine tuning" the Sedan and finishing up some other little details.
    Photos to follow.

Meet Bobby Walden's son Beck. Also, check out the latest in hospital scrubs!
    Congratulations to the Waldens.

  14. Right on, Bobby! I think that now makes two little ones, a boy and a girl.

He's a good guy. His wife Melinda is a sweetheart, too. I'm very happy for the new addition to the Walden Gang!

One more thing corrected. The ****on on the left is what the steering wheel had and the one on the right is correct. The horn ****on was given by Tio Geo. George has been a friend for over 30 years. It's amazing how the things we are looking for can be in our own "backyard". Thanks George!
    Rick

Another item maybe you guys can p*** the word for me. I am going to make a small run of shirts in small, medium, 3X and 4X or any other size you guys want. I will have these done before Father's Day and I can either ship them or have them for you at LARS. PM me whatever sizes you would like. Children sizes can be made also.

I spent yesterday creating a new parts list for the Sedan.
I'll be looking for original hood hold downs (any condition)that are flat on the hood side. The ones on the Sedan are loaners from Pete and I need to give them back to him. Also, during the ***embly process Pete noticed we have an early '32 cowl vent and a later opening mechanism. We need to find a later cowl vent. Any leads would be appreciated. Also the when the seats were upholstered they found a steel support for the factory headrest was missing and Flat-N-Low(Alex) who helped me find the seats said he will try to track down the piece. Thanks Alex!

The to do list for the Sedan seems to be growing. It's a good thing Father's Day is coming up because as has been stated before, a deadline is great motivation for getting things done.

Fully realizing that there is some sort of siren song mystique to solid tops and roll up windows that keep the heater output inside the car, There are some of us FOOLS that rather like being chilled to the bone, par boiled and skin turning to the look of old leather, bathing in a sudden downpour that floods out the door jambs, enjoy the natural aroma of a freshly manured field up wind of you, losing you last pair of gl***es because you forgot that you NEVER look back over your shoulder while driving your roadster, leaving home on a crisp morning dressed like an Eskimo only to arrive with the weather warmed up more than you expected and having the floor of the car look like a clogged laundry shoot as you remove the "layered look" and my personal favorite, driving down the road at 70+ mph and fatally rear ending a 5 mph bumble bee with the stinger from the late bee har****ing your forehead just below the hairline! But, a ride on a warm summer starless evening in the country and enjoying millions of stars *****ling makes us do it all over again. Or as "Ol Dad said "It's REET!" All in all though, if I had to own a closed car, the E&B seeeedan is the one I'd want!

I have owned open and closed cars over the last 50 years. I started with a roadster, and am finishing with a roadster. I could not have said it better Weedburner! :)

I've got an idea. I can take the sedan body off and put a roadster body on the ch***is. Probably not a good idea. The last time that was done things didn't go well.

That being said, that is why I enjoy driving my '13 model T so much.

deucemac- The bugs don't hurt as much at 35 mph.

I stopped by Pete's last night. We both seemed to have caught up with our regular work and will be back on the Sedan next week. The first item to finish is the wiring.
We need some help. Years ago (the late 70's I think) Rod & Custom did an article on wiring. That article is what we used then and we can't remember how to wire the external regulator. It would be easier to use a one wire alternator or one with an internal regulator, but that just wouldn't be correct. It would be great if one of you can find that article and either post the diagram or e-mail it to me.
    Thanks,
    Rick
