Here's a picture I took of that 1959 Chevy back in 2009 when I was at the junkyard. The dump truck was moved beside it sometime since then. The picture I posted yesterday was taken last Friday when I went back to pick up a 56 Pontiac.

He has probably 10 or more 1959-1960 Chevy's there... 2 doors, 4 doors, wagons...

Pic looks kind of old, my bet is that Thunderbird is fairly new.

Yeah, and I wonder if there is a row of 55s in front of the 56s.

  11. Looks more like a Mercury Zephyr or Ford Granada than a T-Bird.

  12. It's a '77-'79 Thunderbird. Sold tons of parts for 'em back in the days. Had one as a driver/demo during my Parts Manager days.

Heres some more from my collection, this is of my local yard....been closed down for as long as I can remember, I do remember as a kid they had piles of cars in this yard, they hauled off cars and scrap for almost 2 months about 5 years ago. Right after that I went for a walk and ended up inside and snapped these pictures, nothings for sale, can't even hardly talk to the owner he just doesn't care.

There's also a large barn/building on this property, that was used has the owners office and shop. Some of the older guys in town told me it has an upstairs loft that they would park cars in back in the day, just not sure whats actually all inside, maybe some day we will find out.

Late model, possibly from a cummins TD truck.

  21. Agree. I sold many of them but it was years ago. There may be some core value higher than scrap in that turbo. Nearly all the big diesel engine suppliers - Cat, Cummins, Detroit etc. - had rebuild lines for turbos.

I'm pretty sure all 3 of them had motors in them, but I didn't look to see what was under the hood or how complete they were. I know this guy will generally sell anything. If someone sees something they want and want to plan a trip this way... They're in Southern, West Virginia. I have the yard contact info for him PM if interested in anything.

OMG.......My wife would die for that one....a '57 Olds wagon is her "must have". She saw one at a car show, turned to me and said "build me one of those!" :D

It's Painful these guys won't sell....my new wife and I would LOVE to give that Olds a good home as a family cruiser!
