I couldn't help noticing the "Kandy" sign, I wonder if the Barris's ever traveled through here? ;)

The Boston Marathon isn’t just an athletic event. It’s a celebration of our democratic republic. We at the The Old Motor join the people of Boston, Massachusetts and the Nation in expressing our sympathy to the victims and their families in the aftermath of the tragic event that took place there earlier this week.

We decided to show the Marathon back in a different time, in photos containing motorcycles and cars from the Leslie Jones Collection and on The Old Motor you can see many more.

The sign under the marquee probably refers to the Seventh War Loan that started in May of 1945; this would make sense the way the marquee is worded - after V-E Day the focus was on "finishing the job" and bringing the boys home. Only Angels Have Wings was released in 1939, but theaters often would bring back a popular film in the days before TV.

Does anyone else remember the Lil Abner cartoon by Al Capp. The outfit on this young lady is excatly the outfit that Daisy Mae in that cartoon wore.

Not just a P50 but the one and only prototype. Production models had wheel layout reversed, one in back and two up front. They also did not have the same sloped nose. For anyone wondering, this prototype survives today.

This looks like Mike Hanigan and Dick Mello from Antioch Cal. with Yosemite Half Dome in the background. Is it so?
