Got these wheels with my latest project car. All are brand new in the box but I've never heard of the brand Appliance Mags. Anybody on here ever heard of them?

That's like striking gold! New, never installed rims still in the factory boxes. Probably from the 70's but yes, these were as popular as Cragar and Keystone back in the day.

Sears and Roebuck sold them in there automotive centers. I used to have a buddy that had a set that looked like Cragers on his nova in high school

The shipping address is to a very famous race car builder (Tobias). I'd bet ya a beer those rims were intended for sprint cars or super modifieds. Gary

I think Appliance Plating started making chrome wheels then started making mags. I also think they either had or sponsored a top fuel car back in the 60's.

  8. I have had several sets of Appliance wheels in the last 40 years, they also offered Chrome reverse wheels. HRP

Probably not, sprints or supers would have 6 pin holes with knockoffs, nice score.

The Appliance 5 spoke and wires were popular with lowriders back in the 70s. They had a "A" on the cap.

Thanks for the help everybody! Yeah they did come from Tobias Speed Shop, they've been sitting in the boxes in a basement for 30+ years. Later versions I guess because they are stamped "JAPAN" on the backs.
