I stopped vending at E Town because of the tax man for a time. When this first hit E town the next year it was empty( going back afew years here) . The last time I was there only the people selling new stuff got the hairy eyeball from the taxman, folks selling used junk like me were left alone.

I quit for good a couple of years ago, the fools running the show there just aren't vendor friendly anymore, damed if I'll give them a dime.

I do sell stuff over the net, used old junk stuff, now there is talk of a national sales tax to cover that. I believe that comes under " States Rights", it was pretty ugly last time we all got our panties in a bunch about that and the Fed's won that one.

Your two cents seems to be that you don't like management, the tax structure or the federal government. I think you should not be a vendor. JMTC.

It just doesn't get any better than that, does it?? By the way, I'd like to check out those Chev. artillery wheels. How many do you have?

  12. If you are going from Maine while I am not from Maryland then I have screwed up priorities!

I will say Carlisle events have declined since economy tanked.

I'm going for the 1st time friday, should land about 8 am I think. Always good to meet hAMBERS, I'll be sporting my usual ratty indian motorcycle hat.

5window, you must be some sort of super genius! I never thought I might be the problem, thank you. Really, I am touched that you read my post and spent the time to consider my personal plight and give me this super genius insight. Thank you. You are saintly.

Where ELSE are you going to be? At work? I think not. This will be about 35 years in a row. It's somewhere between a family reunion and a curious celebration of surviving another %*&()# winter. If you see Bill Miller, thank him for making all of our lives better. I have a NOS '93 Carlisle shirt- but it stays in the closet for safe keeping!

I'm headed down sat morning. Plan on stopping by a few of the HAMBers places for a meet and greet. I'll be the guy with not enough money.

Nice meeting some fellow Hambers who saw the banner or read the post and knew where I was. Weather was nicer than normal, crowd was heavy but wallets were light !!! Had a good time and made enough to restock what I sold.

  19. Sorry I did not see this post earlier - I was vending in II 29 Wed, Th , Fr - weather was fantastic as you really could not ask for better. I didn't have much to sell as I sold some stuff just before leaving but I did manage to sell a 322 Nailhead engine and a bunch of Early Ford stuff, much of which went to HAMB lurkers. Where were you bigbob22? I'll make sure I get things right next Spring ...

I also scored some nice non-HAMB friendly items and scored 3 (one was new, never been on the road) really nice tall (235/85-R16) radial tires I'll use on my 32 5-window when the time comes.
