hello all. picking up a sweet start to a low n slow project. Can't afford to bag the car, and seeing the patchy floor im not sure I want to. My goal is to have it as low as possible without cutting coils, notches, etc After looking around ive figured out this. Let me know what you think. Jamco 4" dropped leafs springs and 3" drop blocks. Jamco 3" drop coil springs for the front and 2.5" drop spindle uprights. Total $1500 or so and 5.5" drop in front and 7" drop in rear. Am I just dreaming this is possible? I've used Eaton spring on my '68 Lincoln before but how is Jamco stuff? Any other suggestions? air over leaf for the rear alone maybe?
I would stay away from Jamco stuff because they have real bad customer service! I ordered some stuff from them and a month went bye and never received my order. So I called my credit card company and put a hold on payment. Tryed to contact Jamco and never got ahold of any one. Long story short go with someone else for parts
Thats a pretty hefty drop without a c-notch and raising the tunnel. I think you might run out of space with 7 inches of static drop
how much do you think I could get max? should I do air over leaf in the rear and remove a few leafs from the pack?
1. Do an intro before you get too far so you don't get drawn and quartered by the HAMB police (read the rules, too). 2. Do a search before you purchase a product from any vendor. You'll find lots of exciting reading about JAMCO. Best of luck, but don't send them a dime.
Score the uprights from someone else. Period. Snip ONE wrap of your stock coil (2" drop) and mock that up. You should buy some quality shock's, slightly shorter than stock. Really a 5" rear drop will be plenty. Mock this up on both ends. Your exhaust should already be tucked above the lowest frame rails.
Jeff, talk to Flat top bob and dig up some Ramcharger springs. Choprods uses these 3 and 5 leaf packs. They drop the car a fair amount. I have some here for the 54
