Most are 4 doors and the starting bid must be from Colorado as they allow you to smoke that stuff here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fact that many are 4-doors and there's a number of interesting big wagons is, to some of us, a feature and not a bug.

I see a fair number of what I consider to be interesting cars, my three faves at first glance are the '63 Galaxie 4-door hardtop, the mid-'60s Pontiac wagon, and the VW Squareback, but there's also a couple other early-mid '60s Pontiacs, an early Falcon wagon, a '64 Fairlane of some sort, a '65(?) Impala convertible, a few other scattered '50s/early '60s items that might be interesting to someone. And I'll voice a tender spot for just about any early '60s wagon, though Chevys are pretty much my least favorite of that era.

But, yeah, you'd need a fair number of items you could flip for $4K (good luck) to make up for all the '80s crusher-grade crap in the mix.

Yeah, right. Do the math, thats almost $1000 per car! I see a few that MIGHT be worth $1000, I see a whole lot more that are worth scrap weight.
It could be worth a couple million like the ad states, IF you put a few million into buying, inventoring and marketing the parts + the cost of land to have them on.
    Think I'll pass.

Exactly right! The cost of storing (ad says land use "negotiable") or worse, finding another site and actually moving all these cars, plus the above mentioned processing costs, would be very expensive.

Labor costs, advertising, theft losses, etc., might make it tough to make a good return even if the cars were free. If it was so easy, why wouldn't the present owner be doing it?

    Hmmm..........very astute observation !

Probably is getting lots of calls for specific vehicles pictured and questions about what else he has.

Then there's that pesky little problem that he doesn't own any of the cars. How long you think it will take to do the paperwork for 550 lien sales.

You as the "buyer" would have to contact the real owners and they just might want the car back since you paid the storage fee...

Kinda like the idea of owning a auto wrecker in the desert. Kind of a semi-retirement job/hobby selling a fender here and emblem or bumber there while sitting in the yard office shooting the breeze with whoever walks in the door about the endless possibilities for a custom or a hot rod over ice cold lemonade. Just a dream.

I have nothing to add. I'm just curious what type of car is in the first picture, the one right in front. Blue with racing stripes? Thanks

I want the 65 impala vert.... there is some cool real patina on alot of the cars.

Typical of a towing company overcharging.. at $250k you might be getting closer to its real value pending on what is really there and how bad the condition and completeness of the "popular" cars are

Not much there worth saving. A couple late 50's 4dr hard tops and a VW wagon but other than that it's just parts and derby cars.

  21. I want that white Belvedere Wagon and the rusty Duster Body - I know, not HAMB friendly.

$500,000.00 and the reserve is not met?,,,I understand trying to make a profit,,but I doubt anyone is gonna pay that amount of money for cars that wont even return the original investment. HRP

500,000 stating bid and 0 bids. I'm with the guys who feel that it is a way of getting some low buck advertising. They can run that on Ebay for a year for less than the cost of running one small add in the Phoenix or LA paper for a weekend.

In the second photo I can see a 57 Buick Century 2door ht, 63 Grand Prix coupe and 63/74 Pontiac rag top And that is just with a quick glance.

Correct-o ! The "auction" gets over tomorrow, but they are "currently taking bids from dealers and private parties until May 21st 2013."

Lot of sellers use ebay as advertising, putting in their address or phone number as a fishing line, cancelling or modifying the auction a day before it "ends."
